  • 810 slices of thin-cut bacon
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for a sweet-savory twist)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Asparagus: Wash and trim the asparagus by snapping off the woody ends. Divide the spears into bundles of 3–5 spears each, depending on their thickness.
  3. Season the Asparagus: In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture evenly over the asparagus spears.
  4. Wrap with Bacon: Wrap each asparagus bundle with a slice of bacon, spiraling it upward from the bottom. Secure the bacon ends with toothpicks if needed.
  5. Optional Sweet Touch: If using brown sugar, sprinkle it over the bacon-wrapped bundles to create a caramelized glaze as they bake.
  6. Bake: Arrange the bundles on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out for even cooking. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender.
